This madness .....
And people call it ... LIFE!
King George suffered from it
Beethoven couldn't hear any of it
Oscar Wilde wrote and quoted it
Shakespeare adored it
So why don't I?
They don't have
All that I have to bear
A "cross" some may say for my pennance
Of not doing it when I should
Not being there when I had to
Not seeing what was blinding white
Being pursued all through
By some demon, some unlucky cherub
Some really bad angel
For what I did last time
Last life
What to make of it?
The old year is going, the new arrives
Just numbers to me
That go on and grow ....
As I get lower and shrink
Down to the ground.
I wish there was a way
To make Life do as I wanted
Be where I wanted and who I needed
We all need this
So few have it
So little hope, joy and merriment
What's it all about?
I know not
What I know is very small
But what I feel is mighty
Like the sword
Like the rain and the storm
That tosses ships into matchsticks
BURN WITH ME!
